Father Robert Taft to be Main Speaker
At Academic Convocation in Pittsburgh Celebrating the
50th. Anniversary of the Byzantine Catholic Seminary
Father Robert Taft, SJ, world renowned Eastern Christian liturgical scholar will be the featured speaker at an Academic Convocation closing the year-long celebration of the Fiftieth Anniversary of the Byzantine Catholic Seminary of SS. Cyril & Methodius in Pittsburgh, PA.
Father Taft will speak on the topic, "Eastern Catholic Theology: Slow Rebirth after a Long and Difficult Gestation." The convocation will take place on Tuesday, May 8, 2001 at St. Paul Seminary Auditorium in Pittsburgh, beginning at 7:00 p.m. There is no charge for the lecture but registration is required.
The Rt. Rev. Archimandrite Robert Taft, a member of the Society of Jesus (Jesuits) is the Vice-Rector and Ordinary Professor of Liturgy at the Pontifical Oriental Institute in Rome. His work has enriched the appreciation of liturgy among Catholics and Orthodox alike for nearly thirty years.
