KYIV: On the Feast of the Nativity of the Most Holy Mother of God, the Predstoyatel of the Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church, the Metropolitan of Kyiv and All Ukraine, Mefodiy celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Patriarchal Cathedral of St. Andrew the First-Called. During the service, His Beatitude ordained subdeacon John Zayets to the order of deacon.

Father Deacon John comes from a priestly family and graduated this year from the Ternopil Theological Academy and Seminary.
