Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church Sobornopravna Consecrates New Bishop and Celebrates Ordination Rites

On Sunday, February, 20, 2000, during the Pontifical Divine Liturgy at SS. Boris & Gleb Cathedral, His Beatitude, Metropolitan STEPHAN and His Eminence, Archbishop MICHAEL consecrated a new Auxiliary Bishop for the Metropolia. His Grace, Bishop DANYLO was consecrated as Titular Bishop of Maramaros and Auxiliary Bishop of Cleveland. He will serve as Episcopal Vicar and oversee the Western Syncellete (Vicariate) of the Archeparchy. Ordained to the Priesthood at the Liturgy was the Rev. Hieromonk Paisi Ross, who is appointed pastor of St. Ignatius of Antioch Church, Greenville, NC. Deacon Timothy Belinskyj was elevated to the office of Archdeacon, in recognition of his 18 years of ordained ministry. A Photo Story and details are coming soon!

The Rt. Rev. Bishop Danylo: Auxiliary Bishop of Cleveland, Appointed as Syncellus (Episcopal Vicar) of the Western Syncellete of the Archeparchy of Cleveland.

The Rev. Hieromonk Paisi (Ross): Appointed Pastor of St. Ignatius of Antioch Church, Greenville, NC, Administrator of St. Nicholas of Myra Mission, Greater Hudson Valley, NY and Dean of the Eastern Deanery (Protopresbyterete).

The Rev. Deacon Timothy Belinskyj: Elevated to the rank of Archdeacon and attached to the Cathedral of SS. Boris & Gleb, Cleveland, OH.

Effective February 13, 2000:

The V. Rev. Hieromonk Danylo: Elected and Confirmed by the Council of Hierarchs as Bishop-Elect of Maramaros and Auxiliary Bishop of Cleveland.

Effective January 30, 2000:

The Rev. Gerald Slessinger: Appointed Pastor of St. Nicholas of Myra Church, St. Petersburg, FL. and Vicar Judicial of the Metropolitan Tribunal.
