Metropolitan & Archbishop to Attend Inauguration Ceremony of President George W. Bush
Metropolitan Stephan and Archbishop Michael will be among the invited guests at the Inauguration Ceremony of President George W. Bush on Saturday, January 20, 2001.
The ceremony, to be held on the steps of the Capitol Building in Washington, DC formally begins the presidency of Mr. Bush, the 43rd. president of the United States of America.
The bishops will join other religious leaders and thousands of Americans at this historic event.
The president-elect commenting about his role in leading this great country, stated to the press, "The presidency does not belong to any one person, but to all of us," he said. It belongs to the American people. ... My administration will serve all Americans."
The prayers of the clergy and faithful of the Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church in the USA are with Mr. Bush as he begins his term of office as President of the United States.
