Harrisburg, PA: Metropolitan Stephan, Archbishop Michael and other clergy of our Metropolia have accepted the invitation of the state senate of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, to participate in a program entitled "Candles for Freedom" commemorating the victims and heroes of September 11, 2001.

The program calls all Americans and people of good will everywhere to light a candle at their home or work location at exactly 8:45 a.m. on Wednesday, September 11, 2002, in remembrance of the lives lost on that tragic morning one year ago. This time is the precise moment when the first plane hit the north tower of the World Trade Center in lower Manhattan.

We encourage all of the clergy and faithful of our Metropolia, as well as all of our website visitors, to join us in this most solemn commemoration.
