SECOND ANNIVERSARY
OF THE BEATIFICATION OF
BLESSED BISHOP PAVLO PETRO GOJDICH, OSBM

MODERN DAY UKRAINIAN MARTYR

May 11, 2003 marks the second anniversary of the Beatification of Blessed Bishop-Martyr Paul Peter Gojdich, OSBM, Bishop of Prjashiv. In commemoration of this historic event, prayers, poetry and hymns have been composed by the Ukrainian community to recall the Bishop's heroic life and self-sacrifice for the sake of his church and people and to pray for his speedy canonization.



Father Basil Mendrun', OSBM composed the following beautiful poem/hymn in honor of our heroic Bishop-Martyr Paul Peter. The Ukrainian text follows below. It is reproduced here from the April 2003 issue of Svitlo - The Light published by the Basilian Fathers in Toronto, Ontario:
